FUEL & TRAVEL

Fuel Economy Converter & Calculator

Use actual driving distance and the fuel used to calculate fuel efficiency in four common representations. US gallons and UK imperial gallons are not the same size, so we show both MPG measures separately.

How this calculation works

km/L = distance in km ÷ liters. L/100 km = 100 × liters ÷ distance in km. US MPG = miles ÷ US gallons; UK MPG = miles ÷ UK gallons.

Worked example

Traveling 500 km on 35 liters equals 14.29 km/L, 7 L/100 km, approximately 33.60 US MPG and 40.35 UK MPG.
