UNITED STATES · MODEL-LEVEL RESEARCH

Find official US vehicle recall notices

Search the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) by model year, make and model. This is an official-data lookup for model-level notices, not a vehicle VIN or repair-completion check.

Look up a model

Request is sent to our server to query NHTSA. We use input validation, request throttling and short-lived caching. Search inputs may appear in standard server access logs; do not enter a VIN into these fields.

Important distinction

A year/make/model recall listing may include different production batches. An official VIN check is necessary to determine whether a specific vehicle has an unrepaired recall; repair completion must be confirmed through the responsible source or manufacturer.

No records does not mean no risk

If no records are returned, this may reflect input spelling, vehicle coverage, a temporary source error or an absence of published notices. It cannot prove that a vehicle is free from safety defects.

Other countries

Countries have different official sources and requirements; US notices do not establish status in other markets.
